What is the unit for speed?
m/s (mostly), km/h, m/h..
State the suffixes and prefixes of numbers in physics.
Giga: A billion, or 10 to the power of 9.
Mega: A million, or 10 to the power of 6.
K: A thousand, 10 to the power of 3.
d : Deci, 10 to the power of -1.
c : Centi, 10 to the power of -2.
m : Milli, 10 to the power of -3. (1/1000)
micro = 10 to the power of -6.
nano = 10 to the power of -9.
What is density?
The amount of mass per unit volume of a substance, measured in kg/m3.
What is the word for the quantity of space an object occupies?
Volume, cubic metre.
When does an object sink when thrown to the water?
When the object is denser than water.
What is mass?
SI unit = Kg.
Mass is the TOTAL amount of matter in an object.
How would you describe weight?
It’s a force, measured in Newtons, which shows how strong gravity pulls on down on the earth.
Two meanings of g*
g ( gravitational field strength) = 10N/kg
g ( acceleration of free fall ) = 10m/s2
