1. Linear Multimedia; here information is read and viewed in a continuous sequence. the presentation starts from a predefined starting point and ends in a predefined eding point. an example is a powerpoint presentation.
2. Non-linear Multimedia; here, information is not presented in a sequential or chronological way. it is interactive and requires users interations. an example is the web.

Stages of a Multimedia Project

1. Pre-Production
   this is the stage before producing the multimedia.
   idea the team will ask why we want to develop a multimedia. it is marketable and profitable?, is multimedia the best option
   target Audience the team has to take to account the targe audience and how it affects them
   delivery medium the team decides the medium through which the infromation can be delivered appropiately either through the web, dvds and so on
   planning a lack of planning in the early stage of the multimedia can cause the team after. the team discuss on what is required for the multimedia project, how long each task will take, who is going to do what and how much it will cost
2. Production here, all the planning from the pre-production stage will be carried out by individuals involved.
