Chapter 1 Flashcards
Sampling Rate
the number of samples taken per unit time
Sampling
taking measurements at regular intervals and storing the value
File header
a set of bytes at the beginning of a bitmap file which identifies the file contains information about coding used
Image resolution
the number of pixels in the bitmap file define as the product of weight and height of values
Screen resolution
the product of weight and height values for the number of pixels that the screen can display
Color depth/ Bit depth
The number of bits used in one pixel
Drawing object
a component defined by geometric formulae and associated properties
Property
Basic geometry data, such as the radius the position of c, etc. It also includes the thickness and style of a line, color of the line, and the shape
Drawing List
contain an command for each drawing object included in the image
Sampling resolution
The number of bits used to store each sample
Pixel
small blocks of addressable areas and the color they have is represented by binary & stored as bits
Frame Rate
the frequency at which frames in a video sequence are displayed
# higher frame rate will have a better quality the video which have a bigger file size
Temporal redundancy
redundancy between frames
Spatial redundancy
