or

25
Q

Are actinic keratosis and basal cell carcinoma disqualifying conditions for radiation work?

A

Actinic keratosis is not disqualifying if adequately treated
Surgically removed BCC is considered disqualifying until the pathology results of the surgery are obtained and show clear margins

26
Q

What labs are required for routine RMEs?

A

CBC - specifically WBC and HCT

Urinalysis - Micro or dipstick

27
Q

To what time requirements are RME labs subject, if any?

A

WITHIN 3mo of physical examination

28
Q

What is the “DINA list” and what are some of the reasons a person could end up on it?

A

DINA list is a list in which people are not allowed to work/receive TLD
Individuals can be placed on this list after 45days of non-compliance with further evaluations needed with REM

29
Q

If a WBC or HCT lab is out of the normal facility lab range, what must happen in order to clear the worker as Physically Qualified (PQ)?

A

Abnormal WBC - requires differential

Abnormal repeat labs, the physician must perform further clinical evaluations to determine the reason for the abnormal HCT or WBC and record this reason

Focus of further clinical studies is to rule out cancer and/or bone marrow suppression
