On the superior portion of 2nd rib in the mid-clavicular line.
Sinuses; sinusitis
Between ribs 2 and 3, just lateral to the sternum.
Esophagus, bronchus, thyroid, myocardium;
Between ribs 3 and 4, just lateral to the sternum. (3rd ICS)
Upper lung; upper lobe pneumonia
Between ribs 4 and 5, just lateral to the sternum. (4th ICS)
Lower lung; lower lobe pneumonia
Between ribs 5 and 6, near the costochondral junction. (5th ICS)
Stomach; acidity/gastritis
Between ribs 6 and 7, near the costochondral junction. (6th ICS)
Liver, Gallbladder
Between ribs 7 and 8, near the costochondral junction. (7th ICS)
