- Conceptualization
- Construction
- Test tryout

5 Test Revision
Describe steps 1 & 2 of test development
Step 1: Must ask the 5 w’s, questions include, what will the test measure, how will it measure this, who will use this test, who will this test be useful for, how will it be administered etc.
Step 2: Must determine the type of scaling, (age/grade scale, likert scale) then we must come up with the items they will employ on the test to adequately ensure content validity
Describe steps 3 & 4 of test development
Step 3: test tryout
- the test should be given to a similar population for which its intended and should be administered in the same way
Step 4: Item analysis
- Different methods can be used to determine item, difficulty, reliability, validity, and discrimination
Describe the last step
Step 5: revision
- revision should bed one if the test is dated, items on the test do not accurately represent the current cultural or if general improvement can be made
Describe the likert versus the guttman scale
Likert: provides 5 possible options on a test on a agree-disagree scale (strongly agree to strongly disagree)
Guttman: an ordinal level scale, in regards to feelings or attitudes ranging from weakest to strongest feelings
