Chap. 1 - Measurement Flashcards
What is the formula for finding the upper and lower limit / boundary to a measurement?
measurement +/- 0.5 * smallest unit of mesurement
How do you find the smallest unit of measurement?
Take the LAST NUMBER in the measurement taken and make it the number “1”.
Make all the numbers before that “1” a zero.
e.g 7.052 = 0.001 is the smallest unit of measurement
What is Pythagoras Theorum?
a^2+b^2=c^2

Pir^2+Pir*l
What is “l” in terms of cones?
The “slant height” of the cone, e.g any point on the circumference of the base, up the curved surface and to the apex.
Volume of prisms and cylinders?
V=A*h
Volume of cones and pyramids?
V=1/3Ah

V=4/3Pir^3
how to transfer between km^2 -> m^2, etc.?
multiple or divide by the the number, (100, 1000 etc.) but add a ^2.
e.g km^2 -> m^2 = *1000^2
area of a paralellogram?
