A

Have no specific points of their own.
Their pathways make internal linkages that may not be made by the primary channels, they explain actions and indications of many pts.

Most DC belonging to Yang PC (3 things)

A
  1. Separate from their yang PC on the limbs. (ex. B @ popliteal fossa, St and GB on thigh, SI at shoulder, LI on hand)
  2. Enter their related Zang or fu as well as their int-ext related Zang or Fu (ex. B DC travels to B fu and then to K zang, St DC travels to St fu and then to Sp zang)
  3. Resurface at the supraclavicular fossa, neck or face and join their primary yang channel again.

  2. Sometimes enter their pertaining Zang (K, H, Lu)
  3. Converge with their int-ext related DC

  2. The DC distribute qi and blood to head and face
  3. The DC integrate areas of the body not supplied or interconnected by the PC.
  4. The DC help explain the clinical action of some commonly-used acu pts.

  1. The ex ves act as reserviors which are able to absorb excessive qi and blood from PC.

A

links all yang channels at Du-14, known as “sea of yang channels”, helps regulate the qi of all yang channels

They all originate in the pelvic cavity, directly linked with K, basically its part of the “constitutional” defense of the body.
