If you want to call up another vessel and you know their MMSI number ( maritime mobile service identify number )

You can send them an individual DSC call. They radio will ring like a phone.
If the call is accepted yours and their radio will switch to a ship to ship channel.

If you pressed the distress button by accident, what must you do ?

Turn the set off and on again , set to channel 16 and make “all stations” call , cancelling the false Distress alert
