(Will increase with age and the time we spend in this place)
Insider perspective
Someone who feels like they belong in the environment they are in.
Outsider Perspective
Someone who doesn’t feel like they belong in the environment they are in.
Media Place
Somewhere we haven’t experienced - our sense of place isn’t real - the actual experience of this place is portrayed different in the media
Experienced Place
Somewhere we have experienced - our sense of place is real

Refers to the human and physical features that distinguish one place from another

Exogenous Factors
The relationship of one place with another place - external factors that affect this. Demographic and cultural characteristics
Types of endogenous factors
Location - Urban or Rural, proximity of place with another, physical George such as rivers or man made roads
Physical geography - rock type, soil, altitude, relief
Type of exogenous factors
Political Factor - Role and strength of local councils
Mix factor type (endo and exo)
Cultural - Religion, language, heritage
Clone town
Urban retail areas are dominated by national and sometimes international chain stores
Positives of a clone town
- An increase in supermarkets will allow the consumer to choose between a wide selection of goods
-Big businesses will be willing to pay bigger taxes meaning more employment and tax - Overall health and wealth of the high street is lost
Negatives of a clone town
Close down local businesses - no loca bakery or butcher as Tesco will contain everything in one place
- All of the towns will look and feel the same - no diversity
Agent Of change
The people who impact on place through living, working, or trying to improve the place
Stereotype
An idea created by a person which isn’t necessarily true, but not false either

Data that can be quantified and verified. It is objective. Not influenced by personal opinions or feelings
