Endogenous factors originate internally within a place and can include aspects on which the place is located and built.
what are the endogenous factors that contribute to the character of a place

socio economic;

- meaning and representation
the perception of place is developed through what people have heard and read about a place.
how can rebranding have an influence of perception of place
- it dispels any negative perceptions by giving a place a new positive identify and regional -> international levels.
- what was once a bad perception due to poverty after rebranding is positive as there are more amenities, services and access to green space.
how can re-imaging have an influence of perception of place
- the idea of marketing to promote a modern, fresh and positive image of a place.
- this can be done via, adverts for railways to the coast, adverts of excursions and activities that promote excitement.
how can regeneration have an influence of perception of place
- it is a long term process aimed initially for economic reasons, but through the multiplier effect brings social and physical environment improvements.
- i.e. Stratford bring in Westfield, sports grounds, olympic park.
