When should we switch from a TT6 to a TT6a?
When symptoms have not significantly relieved within the first O2 period.
What do we use a TT6 for?
- AGE,DCS type 2, cardio-pulmonary chokes, cutis mamoratta.
- symptomatic omitted decompression.
-re-occurrence of symptoms less then 60FSW
What is TT5 used for?
- DCS type 1, Asymptomatic omitted D, residual symptoms, CO poison, gas gangrene.
How long are O2 periods?
- 20 minutes with 5 minute air breaks.
What is the course of treatment for altitude DCS that resolved before reaching 1 ATA?
Surface oxygen for 2 hours, observe for 24 hours.
What TT for uncontrolled/omitted D, deeper then 165fsw
- TT8, not to exceed 225fsw

What is type 2 DCS?
-neurological symptoms, ridicular pain, staggers, cardio-pulmonary chokes.
What is required to treat someone on TT5 rather than 6?
- Complete neuro on surface within 10 minutes of symptoms.
-DMO approval
How should you treat someone with pain in abdominal?
- pain in abdominal region and sternum is treated as DCS type 2.
What are the observation requirements after TT6?
-patient must remain on station for 6 hours or be discharged with someone that can recognize symptoms, stay within 1 hour transit to chamber, DMO must discharge.
How long must patient be observed after TT5?
2 hours
Symptoms of DCS type 2?
Pain, marbling and swelling.
