  2. William Carrey- “father of modern missions”, advocated that the church should go out to the pagan world to bring them Christ. Goes to India. Translated the Bible into over 40 languages.
  3. Lottie Moon - “patron saint of Southern Baptist missions” went to China. Prolific letters to American churches asking for support. Died before she could make it home.
