It develops or originates from sources outside of the tooth(these can be extrinsic or intrinsic stains).
What is an Endogenous source of staining?
A stain that develops or originates from within the tooth(this stain is ALWAYS intrinsic).
What are some substances that can cause exogenous stains?
- FOOD: soda, red wine, berries, licorice, leaves of a betel plant, candy with a coloring agent.
