Schizophrenia
Psychotic thinking and behavior for at least 6 months.
Areas of functioning (school, work, self-care, interpersonal relationships) are significantly impared.
Schizotypical Personality Disorder
Impairments of personality (self and interpersonal) functioning, but not as severe as schizophrenia.
Delusional Disorder
Delusional thinking for at least 1 month.
Brief Psychotic Disorder
Psychotic manifestations that last 1 day to 1 month.
Schizophreniform Disorder
Psychotic manifestations for 1-6 months.
Schizoaffective Disorder
A disorder that meets both the criteria for schizophrenia and depressive or bipolar disorder.
Substance-induced Psychotic Disorder
Psychosis that is caused by substance intoxication or withdrawal.
Psychotic manifestations are more severe than typically expected.
Positive Symptoms of Psychosis (4)

- Alterations in speech
- Bizare behavior
Negative Symptoms of Psychosis (5)

- Anhedonia
- Avolition

Ex: only mumbles or responds vaguely
