Process Text
Explains how to do something. Like a guide on how to plant trees. Not the same as informational text.
Types of Informational Writing
- Cause & Effect: reasons and explanations as to why something occurred.
- Compare & Contrast: Compares two or more items and establishes differences and similarities.
Narrative Writing
any kind of writing that tells a story
Fiction
stories that did not really happen
Nonfiction
writing based on real facts. Some nonfiction can tell a story.
Protagonist
Hero
Antagonist
opposes the hero

Internal Conflicts
struggles that occur within a character
External Conflicts
struggles that occur outside the character.
Personal Essay
short, flexible, autobiographical work about you that explains why you would be a great addition to whomever you are writing to.
Reflective Writing
writing that is formal or informal about a subject matter after it has been presented in literature or other media, using emotions, memories, or thoughts.
Communicative Response.
where the writer brings out feelings or questions the roles within the literature studied, in order to find deeper meaning or connection to the text.
