A case which helped define boundary between the constitutionally separate executive and judicial branch of American government. Resulted in petition to Supreme Court by William Marbury. Marbury petitioned to force Madison to deliver documents. John Marshall failed the deliver Marbury’s commission and he established the judiciary as coequal branch of government as well as executive and legislative

Alexander Hamilton
Federalist who stopped the Essex Junto. Burr lost his election and blamed Hamilton. They dueled in Weehawken and died on July 1804
