Alkalosis
Increase in blood pH. Greater than 7.45
Acidosis
Blood pH decreases to less than 7.35.
Blood stream is acidic.

Surface region of body characterized by the posterior area and including spinal and cranial cavities.

Ductless glands.
Release secretions directly into the bloodstream.
Hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid,thymus, adrenal glands
Exocrine glands
Secrete fluids through channels or ducts.
Ex: sweat, saliva, mucus
Frontal plane
Imaginary line running lengthwise on the body from side to side.
Divides body into anterior and posterior.

Breaks down food chemically and physically into nutrients
