Q

What are 4 ways regulatory enzymes are modulated?

A

1) Allosteric enzymes are modulated through noncovalent interactions with allosteric modulators (aka allosteric effectors)
2) Covalent modification that are reversible
3) Stimulation/inhibition when bound by regulatory proteins
4) When the enyzme has a peptide segment proteolyticly cleaved - this is irreversible (digestion, blood clotting, hormone action, and vision)
