The acquisition of money in dishonest ways, such as bribing politicians

Belief that despite a persons background, they can still be successful
Social Darwinism
Philosophy based on Darwins theories of evolution and natural selection, asserting humans have developed through completion and only the fittest surviving
Evolution
Scientific theory that humans and other life forms have developed over time
Philanthropy
Providing money to help humanitarian or social goals
Settlement House
Institution in poor neighborhoods that provided medical attention and other community services
