What is the purpose of the requirements determination?
To convert high level business requirements (from the system request) into detailed requirements that can be used as inputs for creating models
What are functional requirements?
relates to a process or data
What are non functional requirements?
relates to perfromance or usability
What is a requirement?
a statement of what the system must do or what characteristic it must have.
what is the requirements definiton?
a straightforward text report that simply list the functional and nonfunctional requirements in an outline format
What are close-ended questions?
They require a specific answer. They are used for when an analyst is looking for specific, precise information
What are open-ended questions?
They leave room for elaboration on the part of the interviewee. They are designed to gather rich information and give the interviewee more control over the information that is revealed during the interview
What is Joint Application Development (JAD)?
Is an information-gathering technique that allows the project team, users, and management to work together to identify requirements for the system. JAD is a structured process in which ten to twenty users meet together under the direction of a facilitator skilled in JAD techniques. The facilitator sets the meeting agenda and
guides the discussion but does not join in the discussion as a participant.
What is observation info-gathering?
The act of watching processes being performed, is a powerful tool for gathering information
What is a system proposal?
Includes an executive summary, the system request, the workplan, the feasability analysis, the requirements definitition, and the evolving models that describe the new system.
What are the steps to the analysis phase?
