When is the autopilot use required on a RNAV APPROACH
Weather is less than
1000/3
AND
RNAV (RNP) APPROACHES
Autopilot use is mandatory from IAF to DA regardless of weather except:
-The runway is in sight.
While doing a RNAV Approach, do not request or accept a vector to:
-Direct to a waypoint BEGINNING or WITHIN a Radius to Fix (RF) leg.
-To intercept a leg preceding an RF leg.
-Direct to the FAF/FAP/GP
Reduced Thrust T/O are not authorized when:
• Gusty winds and/or strong crosswinds
• Reported or suspected windshear
• Snow, slush, standing water penalty applied
• MEL/CDL restriction prohibits use
• Maintenance Release Document (MRD) displays message stating MAX
THRUST TAKEOFF DUE (in this case, the first flight of the day should be
accomplished as a full-rated takeoff).
Improper pitch mode usage other than VNAV above FL______may produce momentary flight outside the flight envelope.
FL250
Accomplish the Engine Start –Aborted Start checklist in any of the following conditions:
• N1 orN2does not increase or increases very slowly after the EGT increases.
• There is no oil pressure indication by the time the engine is stable at idle.
• The EGT does not increase by 15 seconds after the engine start lever is moved to IDLE.
• EGTrapidly approaches or exceeds the start limit.
During taxi, Do not exceed __% N1 within congested areas unless cleared by appropriate personnel.
N1 45%
Engine warm-up requirements:
3 minutes or 5 minutes if it has not flown in last 5 hours
At speeds above ___ knots, exercise caution to avoid overcontrolling the nose wheel when using the tiller.
20 knots
The normal straight-away taxi speed should not exceed approximately ___ knots. When approaching a turn, speed should be slowed to the appropriate speed for the conditions; on a dry surface use approximately ___knots.
Max 30 knots for straight taxi
Max 10 knots for turns on a dry surface
If difference between Final Weight Manifest CG value and TAKEOFF REF CGvalue exceeds ___%, request new takeoff data.
3%
VNAV shall not be armed on the ground if the engine failure procedure for the takeoff runway contains conditions requiring either of the following:
• The completion of a turn to a specified heading before accelerating.
• Becoming established on a defined lateral course before accelerating.
The above restriction does not apply if an engine failure procedure only requires the initiation of a turn after takeoff with subsequent acceleration at a specified engine-out acceleration altitude.
Reduced thrust takeoffs are not authorized with:
• Gusty winds and/or strong crosswinds
• Reported or suspected windshear
*Snow, slush, standing water penalty applied
• MEL/CDL restriction prohibits use
• Maintenance Release Document (MRD) displays message stating MAX THRUST TAKEOFF DUE
The takeoff configuration warning will sound when one of the following conditions exist:
• Speed brake lever out of full forward detent
• Stabilizer position not in takeoff range (green band)
• Flaps not in takeoff position
• Leading edge devices not in takeoff position
• Parking brake set
Engine surge can occur with a strong crosswind or tailwind component if takeoff thrust is set before brake release. Therefore, the rolling takeoff procedure is strongly advised when crosswinds exceed ___knots or tailwinds approach the aircraft limitations.
