While Freud’s use of libido referred to the sexual drive, how did Jung define it?
Jung used it in a more generalized way as an undifferentiated energy that moves a person forward.
Jung’s use of the word Psyche
Used to refer to all psychological processes, emphasizing that it embraces both conscious and unconscious processes.
For Freud the ego is the executor of the personality. What about the ego for Jung?
The ego is one’s conscious perception of self.
What are Jung’s two basic attitudes and four functions?
1) introversion vs extroversion
2) sensation, thinking, feeling, intuition
The personal unconscious
Includes experiences of an individual’s history that have been repressed or forgotten. These are organized into complexes.
While Freud’s concepts of unconscious forces is mostly limited to a personal unconscious, Jung’s collective unconscious consists of what?
Consists of potential ways of being that all humans share
Archetypes according to Jung are
Universal thought forms of the collective unconscious and predispositions to perceive the world in certain ways.

Through a dialectic procedure which initially entails confession
