When you have a small sample size, what stat should you use instead of “Resteal%” in order to determine if a player will play back at your steal attempt?
3bet%
What are the two major approaches to preflop open-raise sizing?
- Raise 3x from every position.
- Raise 4x from EP/MP, and raise 3x from LP (better hands in EP, wider range in LP)
Whenever ________, risk all that is necessary to get the job done, nothing more and nothing less.
BLUFFING
When stealing against very tight players, how might you want to change the size of your raise?
Make it smaller due to the fact that they’ll fold most hands regardless.
When playing big hands versus bad players, how might you want to change the size of your raise?
Raise as much as the bad player will call.
What are the pros of preflop min raising?
- It doesn’t need to work very often to show a profit, especially in steal situations.
- When players 3-bet, it tends to be smaller due to the relation of our min raise. therefore we get better odds on their 3 bet and a deeper SPR.
- When our min raise is called, it provides a great SPR which allows for maximum maneuverability.
What are the cons of preflop min raising?
- Smaller pots = less value on our big hands.
- Gives opponents great odds, especially from the blinds.
