Technique: 110 @ CC
SID: 40”
CR: Perpendicular to IR, center msp; center at T5-T6, top of IR is at level of mouth
Respiration: Instruct patient to drink contrast
Position: Supine or prone, arms above the head in a comfortable position
AP/PA Oblique Esophagus
-LPO/RPO
IR: 14 x 17”
Technique: 110 @ CC
SID: 40”
CR: Perpendicular to IR, center 2” lateral to msp on elevated side at T5-T6. Top of IR is level with the mouth
Respiration: Instruct patient to drink contrast
Position: Angle the patient 35-40 degrees
Lateral Esophagus
IR: 14 x 17”
Technique: 110 @ CC
SID: 40”
CR: Perpendicular to IR, center on midcoronal plane at level of T5-T6;
Top of IR is level with the mouth
Respiration: Instruct patient to drink contrast
Position: Patient lying on side, patients arms extended out in front
