What is price discrimination?
Selling the same good at different prices
What is a reservation price?
The maximum price a customer will pay for a product. It is equal to their marginal benefit
What is perfect price discrimination?
Charging each customer their reservation price
What is group pricing?
Price discrimination by charging different prices to different groups of people
What are the 3 conditions for price discrimination?
- Your business has market power
- You can prevent resale
- You can target the right prices to the right customers
What is the hurdle method?
Offer lower prices only to those buyers who are willing to overcome some hurdle or obstacle
What is a quantity discount?
When the per-unit price is lower when you buy a larger quantity
What is bundling?
Selling different goods together as a package
