Diurnal 1.25 to 2.5 F (0.5 to 1.0 C)
FUO = temp > 101.8F for 3 wks w/ no discernible cause and at least 1 week dx
FUO causes - autoimmune disorders, neoplasms
No DX in 25% of FUO
TX for comfort (cold sponge baths, ice bags, antipyretics (aspirin or acetaminophen)
Avoid aspirin in children
