What is painting?
painting is an illusion of form and depth
What is form?
illusion of objects that exist in real space
What is depth?
illusion of real space
What is hatching and crosshatching?
using lines you can form highlights and low lights ( more lines make the piece darker and less faint lines will show a highlight)
overlapping and diminution
change the scale of an artwork (creates a larger foreground and smaller background showing depth)
what is vertical perspective?
the stacking to make contrast (shows depth)
What is atmospheric perspective?
When an object becomes further and further away in a picture the form becomes less sharp
What is Isometric perspective?
using diagnol lines to convey length and depth
What is a grid game?
When a grid is placed over a object that is going to be drawn or painted so that each cube could be separately done which will come together to form the onbect
What is a perspective frame?
A frame that can aid in paintings or drawing of real objects
What is the camera obscura?
the camera obscura is intended to create a cone vision without using an actual eye.
What is one-point linear perspective?
when you use lines (orthogonals) to meet a vanishing point making a picture have a focus that appears far away (vanishing point)
What is a vanishing point?
A point where an object and the sky meet
What is a two point perspective?
When you have one central vanishing point and then another, could be a left, or right vanishing point
What is a three point perspective?
when there are three vanishing point, one is either outside of below/above the horizon line
