Ch 11 Flashcards
Steady Flow
Velocity of the fluid particles at any point is constant as time passes
Non-steady Flow
Exists whenever the velocity of the fluid particles at a point changes as time passesh
Turbulent Flow
An extreme kind of unsteady flow in which the velocity of the fluid particles at a point change erratically in both magnitude and direction
Incompressible fluid density
Shows very little change with pressure
Most liquids are nearly
Incompressible
Ideal Fluid
Constant density; steady flow
Incompressible; non-viscous fluid
Streamlines
Represent trajectories of fluid particles
Compressible Fluid
Significant changes in fluid density
Incompressible Fluid
Density is constant
Viscous Fluid
Resistance to outside stressors
Honey
Non-viscous Fluid
Poor resistance to outside stressors
Water
