How does a doula help the partner or father?
Allows them to be present at their own comfort level and to remain emotionally connected to the mother and their child without having the responsibility of being the sole support person in the room

What are the signs that the mother is feeling unsupported?
She will stop making eye contact, become withdrawn, put her face in the pillow, and eventually become restless and then become panicked and lose self-control
