What are ADLs?
activites of daily living including bathing, skin, nail and hair care; mouth care; and assistance with walking eating and drinking, dressing, transsferring, and elimination.
What are NAs not allowed to do? (3)
Insert or remove tubes, give tube feedings, or change sterile dressings
What is a care plan?
Lists the tasks, services, and treatments that team members must perform. Developed to help achieve goals.
What is a policy?
A course of action that should be taken every time a certain situation occurs.
What is a procedure?
A method, or way, of doing something,
What is empathy?
Identifying with the feelings of others (experienced).
What is sympathy?
Sharing in the feelings and difficulties of others.
What are the Residents’ Rights?
Quality of Life, services to maintain a high level of wellness, to be fully informed about rights and services, to participate in their own care, to make independent choices, to privacy and confidentiality, to dignity, respect and freedom, to security of possessions, right to complain, right to visits , rights during transfers and discharges, rights with regard to social services.
What is protected health information (PHI)?
Information that can be used to identify a person and relates to the patients condition, any health care that the person has had, and payment for that health care. Includes a persons name, adress, phone number, ssn, email, and medial record.
