Type I
This “type” of incident exceeds local capabilities and is expected to go into multiple operational periods.
Type II
This type of incident requires multiple operational periods and an incident action plan is needed for each period.
Type III
This incident type may require Command staff and general staff functions but no written incident action plan is needed.
Type IV
This type of incident can be handled with one or two single resources wit up to six personnel.
Example: A search and rescue case.
