what are maternal indications (9)
A
- obstructed labor- CPD
- placenta previa
- placenta abruptio with fetal distress
- previous myomectomy
- 2> previous c/s deliveries
- active HSV
- high HIV viral load
- extensive/ obstructive vulvovaginal warts
- failed IOL where urgent delivery is indicated- severe pre eclampsia/ eclampsia/ multiple gestation with mal presentation of leading fetus

what are fetal indications (5)
A
- abnormal lie
- malpresentation
- fetal distress
- cord prolapse with pulsating cord
- cervical dystocia

what skin incisions can you do
A
Transverse skin incision (i.e., Cohen, Pfannenstiel) preferred

what uterine incision is preferred
A
low transverse incision (kerr)

when would you do a classical incision (4)
A
- for poorly formed
lower segment (i.e., extreme prematurity) - transverse lie with fetal back down
- conjoined twins
- inaccessible lower segment (i.e. dense adhesions, large leiomyoma) or cancer of cervix
