What are the atypical vertebrae in the cervical spine?
C1, C2, C7
Where do the nerves exit in the cervical spine?
ABOVE the vertebral body (unlike thoracic and lumbar where the nerves exit BELOW the vertebral bodies)
How is the OA diagnosed?
Type-1-like
Rotation and sidebending are opposite
Can be Neutral, Flexed, or Extended (unlike typical Type 1)
How is the AA diagnosed?
JUST ROTATION
AARr or AARl
What muscles rotate the AA?
Obliquus Capitis Inferior Muscles
How is the typical cervical vertebrae diagnosed?
Anything goes "Type-2-like" Rotation and SIdebending can be either different or the same Can be Neutral, Flexed, or Extended Can be just 1 or several vertebrae
What are the contraindications for Cervical Soft Tissue technique?
Fractures, open wounds,surgical site, infection, deep vein thrombosis, coagulopathy, neoplasm
What are the contraindications for Cervical HVLA/ART?
Advanced Rheumatoid arthritis, down’s syndrome, vertebral/carotid artery disease, inflammatory arthritidies, malignancy, acute radiculopathy, klippel-feil syndroe, chiari malformation, achondroplastic dwarfism
What are the contraidications for Cervical MET/Still’s?
Undiagnosed joint swelling, severe osteoporosis, neoplas, infection, hematoma, rheumatoid arthritis, fracture, dislocation
