Do you think chiro manipulation causes stroke, please explain?
A
It was probably already going to occur, although the chiropractic may have contributed to the VAD. Therefore chiro may be at fault if a proper history and physical exam was not taken

Less blood supply to brain. If patient was to have VAD, more chance of larger impact. One artery can still bring enough blood

A
Slurred speech Giddiness Change in voice pattern Lack of context in speech Inappropriate reactions to situations

Liability complications
A
- Failure to recognise and document the event
- Failure to monitor and document the patient following onset of problems
- Failure to manage the situation properly and in a timely manner
- Readjusting the patient
- Sending patient home in unstable state
- Taking a casual approach to seeing another provider
- Being less than honest and explicit in the record
