Cervical CC handout Flashcards
1
Q
Mobility
A
- mob or manip exercises to increase mobility
- interventions include AROM exercises and cerv thor mobilization
2
Q
Centralization
A
- traction, traction manipulation, exercises to promote centralization
- utilize traction and repeated movements
- movement into extension, side bending and rotation to ipsi side will aggravate while movement away will decrease
- main goal is to centralize symptoms
3
Q
Conditioning and increased exercise tolerance
A
- focus on strength and consitioning
- typically lower pain and disability score with longer duration of tx, no nerve root compression, no peripheralization/centralization of movement
4
Q
Pain control
A
- modailities, activity modification, gentle exercise to decrease pain and promote movement
5
Q
Reduce headaches
A
- mobilization, strengthening of neck and upper quarter, postural education
6
Q
Most commonly encountered red flag
A
cervical myelopathy
