Certification Flashcards
What are the options at the point of registration?
- Register for single-certification.
2. Register and activate a three-year or five-year subscription
What is the timeframe for WELL V2 and WELL v2 pilot projects to undertake performance measurements?
Within 5 years of the date of registration, or while their subscription is active, whichever is longer
What is the timeframe for WELL v1 and WELL V1 pilots to undertake performance measurements?
Within 5 years of the date of registration
When do projects define the boundaries of a project scope?
Registration
How to projects calculate their size for WELL?
The gross square footage includes the sum of the floor areas of the spaces within the building, including, as applicable, basements, mezzanine and intermediate-floored tiers, and penthouses with headroom height of 7.5 ft. or greater.
Who makes up the project team?

What are the types of annotated documents?
Design documents
Construction documents
Operations schedules with time log templates
Policy documents
Signage and communication materials
Professional narratives
Other materials including surveys and balancing reports
From whom will letters of assurance by required to confirm features have been met?
Architects
Contractors

Owner
What general documents are required?
Signed WELL Certification Agreement
A project checklist
Representative floor plans or project maps

Narrative describing the project in general and listing the attempted features
Proof of construction completion. This may be through a certificate of occupancy or other documentation that similarly confirms that construction is complete.
What are the two stages of documentation that projects may use during the certification process?
Intent-stage documents (for use in WELL V2 projects’ optional WELL Precertification early stage review)
Implementation-stage documents (for use in either Precertification or Documentation review
How is WELL precertification achieved for WELL v1 projects?
An optional review pathway available to all project types for a fee. It is focused on the intended design, construction, and operational strategies for the project. Projects pursuing precertification submit a short narrative for each targeted feature briefly describing how the project intends to meet features’ requirements.
How is WELL v2 precertification achieved?
Projects registered may opt for an early phase of review to receive the WELL Precertification designation.
Precertification occurs prior to Documentation Review and Performance Verification. Projects may submit feature-specific documentation reflecting operational commitments and design intents or implemented conditions.
What environmental parameters do performance tests span?
Air quality Water quality Light attributes Thermal considerations Acoustic elements
Third-party laboratories do the performance tests for the following:
Radon
Formaldehyde
VOCs
up to 32 different water contaminants
