Everything a deck rating has including:
Be at least 18 years of age
Completed at least 18 months sea service in the deck department while holding a NWR certificate or 12 months sea service.
Hold a UK NWR certificate.
Hold an EDH certificate.
Hold an MCA approved certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boat.
