Q
Ordinal data
A
C.t = median or mode
Spread = range or inter range
2
Q
Skewed ratio or interval data
A
C.t = median or mode
Spread = inter range
3
Q
Nominal data
A
C.t = mode
4
Q
Mean
A
. (Sum)/(no of scores)
. Non skewed ratio & interval
+ powerful and most sensitive
- weird values on discrete scales
- distorted by outliers
5
Q
Median
A
For skewed ratio or interval data or ordinal data
+ unaffected by extreme scores
- can be unrepresentative of small data sets
6
Q
Mode
A
Used for skewed ratio/interval data or unusual ordinal
+ only one which can be used for categories and nominal
+ can be better for interval and ratio on a discrete scale
- not great for very small data sets
7
Q
Non skewed interval or ratio
A
C.t = mean
Spread = S.D
