What is the Central Nervous System made up of?
Brain and Spinal Cord
What do nerves do?
Send information via the spinal cord to the brain
What do neurons do?
Pass messages along through electrical impulses/neurotransmitters
What is the frontal lobe?
Responsible for higher order thinking, emotional control and decision making
What is the temporal lobe?
Deals with sound and memory
What is the occipital lobe?
Deals with visual information
What is the parietal lobe?
Deals with physical sensations e.g. skin contact and movement
Where is the frontal lobe?
Front of the brain
Where is the temporal lobe?
Side of the brain inline with your temples/ears
Where is the occipital lobe?
Back of the brain
Where is the parietal lobe?
At the top/back of the brain
What does damage to the ventromedial prefrontal cortex lead to?
Impairments in behavioural control and decision making
