Cemistry Test Flashcards
How are the particles in a solid packed
They are packed together tightly and are unable to move around as they have a fixed shape
How are the particles in a liquid packed
Still paid closely but are able to move around as they have no fixed shape.
How are the particles in a gas packed
The particles are spread out and can move around because it expands to fill any space as it as no fixed shape and can also be invisible
What are the states of matter
Solid, liquid and gas
What do all states of matter have
Kinetic energy and they are always moving
What is brought by heating and cooling a matter
A change of state
What do the particles do in a gas when they’ve got enough energy
They escape from the gas and that’s called evaporation
What do the behavior of the particles do
Change, but the particles itself don’t change
What is the behavior of the particles
It’s what makes a substance a solid, liquid or a gas
What else can you classify as a matter
The shape, size, texture and color
What’s the process of turning a solid into a liquid
Heat up an ice block to get water
What’s the process of turning liquid into a solid
Freeze water to get a solid
What is heterogenous
It’s the process involving substances in different phrases
What’s homogenous
It’s the process involving substance in the same phase
