Beneficiary
The person specified in the preneed contract upon his death, funeral services or merchandise shall be provided or delivered
Burial permit
Permit provided by a licensed funeral Director for the disposition of a dead human body
Care
Maintenance of a cemetery, including cutting of lawn, repair of structures, maintenance of equipment, compensation of employees
Care funds
Money placed in a trust for purpose of earning income to assist in payment of care expenses
Cemetery
Land or structure, dedicated to use for the interment of human remains
Cemetery manager
Individual directly responsible for the operation, maintenance, development, or improvement of a cemetery
Cemetery merchandise
Items of personal property sold by a cemetery (memorials, markers, monument, foundations, outer burial containers)
Comptroller
Regulator of cemeteries (mostly for trust funds)
Customer service employee
Individual who has direct contact with customers, to explain merchandise, services, and interment rights, and to execute the sale of those items to consumers
Department
Department of professional and financial regulation

Grave
Space of ground in a cemetery used for burial
Interment right
Right to place human remains or cremated human remains in a specific location selected by the consumer for used as a final resting place
Licensee
A seller of a preneed contract, who has been licensed by the comptroller
Mausoleum crypt
Place in a mausoleum, above or below ground, for the entombment of human remains
Niche
Space in a columbarium used for inurnment of cremated remains
