Q

What is a cellular automation system?

A

A geometrically structured and discrete collection of identical cells that each possess a local state that can take a finite number of values and which interact with surrounding cells based on a simple rule used to update the state of cells in discrete time steps.

Q

What are the disadvantages of CA?

A
  • Can be hard to formulate the problem
  • CA are bounded by the cellular space of the simulation which means for complex problems an extremely large cell space is needed which becomes very computationally intensive
