what is a nucleus?
it contains genetic material and controls the activities of the cell.
what is a cytoplasm?
gel-like substance where most of the chemical reactions happen. It also contains enzymes which control these chemical reactions.
what is a cell membrane?
holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out of the cell.
what is mitochondria?
where most of the reactions of respiration take place
what does respiration release?
releases energy
what are ribosomes?
where proteins are made in the cell
what is a cell wall?
made of cellulose. it supports and strengthens the cell.
what’s a vacuole?
contains cell sap and is a weak solution of sugar and salts
What are chloroplasts?
where photosynthesis happens. they contain chlorophyll (a green substance).
