What is a Eukaryotic cell?
A
A cell that has a nucleus. (‘Eu’ means true and ‘kary’ means nucleus, so it basically means ‘true nucleus’.) This can be a plant or animal cell.

What is a Prokaryotic cell?
A
A cell that doesn’t have a nucleus. (‘Pro’ means before and ‘kary’ means nucleus, so it basically means ‘before nucleus’.) This can be a bacterial cell.

What is the nucleus’ function?
A
It contains the DNA.

What is the cell membrane’s function?
A
It controls what is allowed in and out of a cell. This could be letting in food or oxygen and blocking viruses.

What is the cytoplasm’s function?
A
It is the site of chemical reactions. It is a jelly like substance.
