Cells Flashcards
What can you use to see Cells ?
A Microscope
What are living things made of ?
Cells
What do an animal cell and a plant cell both have ?
Nucleus
Cytoplasm
Cell membrane Mitochondria
What do only plant cells have ?
Cell wall
Vacuole
Chloroplasts
What does a nucleus do ?
Controls what the cell does and passes on genetic information.
What is a cytoplasm ?
A jelly sort of substance where chemical reactions happen.
What’s a cell membrane ?
Controls what goes in and out the cell and is skin around the cell.
What are Mitochondria ?
Tiny structures inside the cell where most of the reactions for AEROBIC respiration takes place.
What’s a cell wall made of ?
Cellulose
What is a Vacuole filled with ?
Cell sap
What is cell sap ?
A weak solution of sugar and salt
What are chloroplasts ?
They contain chlorophyll (which is used for photosynthesis )
What are multicellular organisms ?
Plants and Animals which are made of lots of cells.
What are Unicelluar organisms ?
Living things made up of 1 cell.
What is diffusion ?
It’s where a substance moves from a area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
