Cells Flashcards
What piece of equipment do we use to look at cells?
Microscope
What do leaf cells have lots of?
Chloroplasts.
What do plant cells have that animal cells don’t?
Chloroplasts, Cell Wall, Vacuole.
What is the function of chloroplasts?
It’s where photosynthesis takes place.
What is the function of the nucleus?
Contain Genetic Material.
How does water move around in cells?
Diffusion
What is a unicellular organism?
An organism that is made up from just one cell.
What is the process by which living thing use oxygen and glucose to release energy?
Respiration.
How do unicellular organism get oxygen needed for photosynthesis?
Oxygen is dissolved in water.
There is a lower concentration of oxygen in amoeba.
Oxygen diffuses across the cell membrane into the amoeba.
