cells Flashcards
function and structure of nucleus
nucleur envelope controls what goes in and out of cell
nucleur pore allows large molecules (mRNA) out the nucleus
nucleolus manufactures ribosomes
function and structure mitochondria
outer membrane controls what enters and leaves the cell
matrix soultion that contains enzymes for aerobic respiration
small ribosomes production of protein
inner membrane folded to make cristae which largens the surface area for more ATP
FUNCTION AND STRUCTURE OF LYSOSOME
lysosomes are vesicles formed by golgi apparatus containing enzymes ( isolating themselevs as they are harmful)
-digest worn out organelles
-hydrolyse pathogens
break down dead cells
rough endoplasmatic recticulum
-ribosomes are present
-transports and synthesis protiens
smooth endoplasmatic reticulum
-lacks ribosomes
-transports, synthisis and stores lipid and carbohydrate
golgi apparatus
recieves protiens and lipids from ER, also protiens are labelled which allows them to go to the correct location
-adds carbohydrates to protien to form glycoprotien
-produce secutory enzymes
-secretes carbohydrates
forms lysosomes
-transports,modify, stores lipid
chloroplast structure and function
chloroplast envelope controls what enters and leaves the cells
grana stacks of thylokoids
thylokoid contains chlorophyll and protiend needed for light deoendent stage of phtosyntheises
