cells Flashcards
Pack the long DNA molecules into more compact, dense strustures, that helps in regulating gene expression and protecting the DNA.
CHROMATIN
Separates the nucleus from ty cytoplasm and contol the passage of
materials in and out of the nuclers. It is also composed of a double membrane structure surrounding the nucleus.
NUCLEAR ENVELOPE
The control center of the cell, contains the cell genetic information and is
responsible for regulating gene expression and directing cellular activities, including cell division
NUCLEUS
The control center of the cell, contains the cell genetic information and is
responsible for regulating gene expression and directing cellular activities, including cell division
NUCLEUS
the outermost boundary of the cell functions to regulate the passage of substances in and out of the cell, maintain cell intergrity, and commusticate with neighboring cell.
PLASMA MEMBRANE
Involved in the protein synthesis and modification, as ribosomes attach to its surface synthesize proteins.
ROUGH ER
Cellular structures in which protein synthesis occurs. they read the genetic code from the mRNA and assemble amino acids into proteins
RIBOSOMES
Fumctions to receive proteins and lipids from the ER, modifies and packages them into vesicles, and directs them to their final destinations within or outside the cell.
GOLGI APPARATUS
Involved in various metabolic processes, including the breakdown of fatty acids and the detoxification of harmful substances, such as hyologen peroxide.
PEROXISOME
Type of cytoskeletal composents that provide struntural support and helps maintain cell shape and integrity.
INTERMEDIATE FILAMENTS
Part of the cytoskeleton and are involved in various cellular processes, including cell division, intracellular transport, and maintaining cell shape
MICROTUBULES
Another component of the cytoskeleton and are involved in cell movement, cell shape changes, and musele contraction.
MICROFILAMENTS
Tiny, finger -like projections on the surface of some cells, such an those in the small intestine. They function to increase the cell’s surface area for absorption and secretion.
MICROVILLI
is involved in organizing microtubules during cell division, specifically in the formation of the mitotic spindle.
CENTROSOME MATRIX
Cylindrical Structures within the centrisome matix, that plays a crucial role in organizing microtubules during well division.
