Cell Structures Flashcards
What is selective permeability or semi permeability?
Is the ability to allow only certain molecules in or out of the cell.
What do the plasma membrane do?
The plasma membrane forms a barrier between the cytoplasm inside the cell and the environment outside the cell.
What is a phospholipid bilayer?
The phospholipids in the plasma membrane that are arranged in two layers.
What do the phospholipid head is related with water? And the tail?
The head loves the water and the tails hates it.
How is called the head and the tail because of its relating to the water?
The head is called hydrophilic (loves water) and the tails hydrophobic (hates water).
Of what it consists the cytoplasm and what includes?
Everything inside the plasma membrane of the cell and it includes the watery, gel-like material called cytosol, as well as various structures.
